Zepbound, Mounjaro (tirzepatide), or Any other GLP-1 medication
Are you allergic or have you had bad reactions to any GLP-1 medications (medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Saxenda, Mounjaro, or Zepbound)?
Do you or anyone in your immediate family (parents, siblings, children) have a history of thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia?
Are you currently pregnant or breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant during the study or for 60 days after?
Have you had weight loss surgery like gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, or Lap-Band?
Have you had procedures for weight loss like gastric balloon or ablation in the past 6 months?
Do you plan to have any weight loss surgery or procedures during the study?
Have you had an organ transplant (other than cornea)?
Do you have uncontrolled thyroid problems?
Do you have uncontrolled high blood pressure (over 160/100)?
Do you have a history of frequent or severe low blood sugar episodes?
Do you drink more than 21 alcoholic drinks per week (for men) or 14 drinks per week (for women)?
Do you use recreational drugs?
Are you currently taking or have you taken in the past 3 months:
Metformin (diabetes medication)
Weight loss medications like Contrave, Qsymia, Xenical, Alli, or phentermine
Medications that cause significant weight gain like certain antidepressants (tricyclics like amitriptyline, paroxetine) or antipsychotics (like olanzapine, clozapine)
Central nervous system stimulants like Adderall, Ritalin, or Vyvanse (caffeine is okay)
Systemic steroids for more than 2 weeks (inhalers, nasal sprays, and joint injections are okay)
Have you been diagnosed with obesity caused by a hormone disorder like Cushing’s syndrome?
Have you been diagnosed with genetic obesity conditions like Prader-Willi syndrome?
Have you been diagnosed with severe gastroparesis (severe delayed stomach emptying) or gastric outlet obstruction?
Have you ever had pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)? (Note: History of pancreatitis from gallstones is okay if gallbladder has been removed)
Do you have inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis?
In the past year, have you had any of the following: Heart attack, Stroke, Unstable angina (severe chest pain), Hospitalization for congestive heart failure
Do you have ongoing or frequent heart rhythm problems like atrial fibrillation or other tachycardia conditions?
Have you been diagnosed with severe heart failure (New York Heart Association Class III or IV)?
Do you or anyone in your immediate family have long QT syndrome?
Have you had unexplained fainting episodes in the past year?
Do you have any active liver disease other than fatty liver disease?
Do you have severe kidney disease or kidney failure (stage 4 or 5)? (eGFR must be ≥30)
Do you have active gallbladder disease? (Note: History is okay if gallbladder has been removed)
Have you had cancer (other than skin cancer or certain early-stage cancers) diagnosed or treated within the past 5 years?
Do you have HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C?
Have you had any autoimmune condition requiring treatment with steroids in the past 6 months?
Have you had major depression or other serious psychiatric disorder (like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder) that was not stable in the past 2 years?
Have you ever had a suicide attempt or suicidal thoughts?
Do you have a history of eating disorders like anorexia or bulimia?
Are you currently taking medications that significantly prolong the QT interval on heart tracings? (like certain heart rhythm medications or some antibiotics)
Do you chronically take medications that directly affect how fast your stomach empties?
Have you donated a pint of blood in the past 8 weeks?
Have you had a blood transfusion or severe blood loss in the past 3 months?
Are you currently enrolled in another research study, or have you been in one in the past 90 days?

Are you willing to use effective birth control during the study and for 60 days after?
Are you able to swallow tablets?
Are you willing and able to attend all study visits over approximately 6 months?
