Obesity Study Self-Scheduler

Qualified participants must:

• Be 18-65

• Be overweight or obese

Answers Must Be No: 

• Do you have diabetes (Type 1 or Type 2)?

• Do you have uncontrolled thyroid disease?

• Do you have significant heart problems (heart attack, stroke, heart failure) in the past year?

• Do you have uncontrolled high blood pressure (≥160/100 mmHg)?

• Do you have a history of major surgery for obesity in the past year?

• Do you have active cancer or history of cancer in the past 5 years (except certain skin cancers)?

• Do you have chronic infections (HIV, hepatitis B or C, tuberculosis)?

• Do you have liver disease or pancreatitis?

• Do you have severe psychiatric illness or recent suicidal thoughts?

• Do you abuse alcohol or drugs?

• Have you used weight-loss medications or certain hormonal drugs recently?

• Have you participated in another clinical trial in the past 90 days?

 Answers Must Be Yes 

• Are you 18 to 65 years old?

• Is your BMI >30 and <42 OR BMI ≥27 and <30 with at least one weight-related condition (such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, or sleep apnea)?

• Is your waist-to-height ratio ≥0.5?

• Have you tried to lose weight through diet at least once before?

• Has your weight been stable for the past 3 months (within 5 kg)?

• Is your physical activity level stable for the past 3 months?

• Are you able to attend study visits and follow instructions?

• For women of childbearing potential: Can you use two forms of birth control during and after the study?

• For men with partners who can become pregnant: Can you use a condom and another birth control method during and after the study?

• Is your body weight ≤140 kg?
