Basic Criteria:
Answers Must Be Yes:
Are you 18 years of age or older?
Have you been diagnosed with or suspected to have Fatty Liver Disease?
If you have type 2 diabetes, have you been on a stable dose of insulin or oral medication for at least 3 months?
If you take an SGLT2 inhibitor (for example, dapagliflozin), have you been on a stable dose for at least 6 months?
Answers Must Be No:
Have you ever had liver decompensation, such as variceal bleeding, ascites, or hepatic encephalopathy?
Have you ever been diagnosed with cirrhosis from a liver biopsy?
Have you been told you have any other chronic liver disease, such as:
Alcohol-related liver disease
Hepatitis B (positive surface antigen)
Active Hepatitis C (positive RNA test in the past 2 years)
Primary biliary cholangitis
Primary sclerosing cholangitis
Autoimmune liver disease
Hemochromatosis
Wilson’s disease
Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency
Drug-induced liver injury
Any other liver disease besides MASLD (Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease)
Is your BMI below 25 kg/m²?
Have you lost more than 5 kg (11 lbs) in the past 3 months?
Have you had weight loss surgery (such as gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy) in the past year or have one planned?
Have you had liposuction, cryolipolysis, or abdominoplasty within the past year?
Have you had or planned any endoscopic or device-based obesity treatments, such as an intragastric balloon or gastric band, within the past 6 months?
Is your obesity caused by a hormonal disorder (such as Cushing’s syndrome) or a genetic/syndromic condition (such as Prader-Willi or MC4R deficiency)?
Is your HbA1c higher than 10%?
Have you recently changed your diabetes medications within the last 3 months?
Are you using bolus (short-acting) insulin?
Do you have type 1 diabetes or any other type of diabetes besides type 2?
Have you had diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar coma, or severe hypoglycemia in the past 3 months?
Have you had a heart attack, stroke, heart surgery, or hospitalization for heart failure in the past 3 months?
Do you have severe (Class IV) heart failure?
Do you or a first-degree relative have a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN2)?
Have you taken any of the following within the last 6 months:
GLP-1 receptor agonists
GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonists
GLP-1/Glucagon receptor agonists
GIP/GLP-1/Glucagon receptor agonists
Have you taken Pramlintide or Amylin receptor agonists within the last 3 months?
Have you used any prescription or over-the-counter weight loss drugs in the last 3 months, such as:
Orlistat
Sibutramine
Phenylpropanolamine
Mazindol
Phentermine or Phentermine/Topiramate
Naltrexone/Bupropion
